Alcohol Rehab in Dayton, Ohio

Outpatient Alcohol Treatment That Meets You Where You Are

Maybe you’ve tried cutting back and it hasn’t stuck. Maybe drinking has started affecting your work, your health, or the people you love. Or maybe you just know it’s time for a change. Whatever brought you here, you don’t have to figure it out alone.

Recovery Works Healing Center offers outpatient alcohol rehab in the Dayton area. Our programs combine counseling, group therapy, and medication support when appropriate, so you can get real treatment while living at home and keeping up with daily life.

Signs It May Be Time for Alcohol Treatment

  • Drinking more, or for longer, than you intended

  • Trying to cut back and not being able to

  • Needing more alcohol to feel the same effect

  • Feeling shaky, sweaty, anxious, or sick when you don’t drink

  • Drinking despite problems at work, home, or with your health

  • Losing interest in things you used to enjoy

  • Hiding how much you drink

If any of these sound familiar, an assessment can help you understand what kind of support makes sense.

Important: Do You Need Detox First?

Alcohol withdrawal can be dangerous, and in severe cases life-threatening. If you drink heavily every day, have had withdrawal symptoms like tremors, sweating, or confusion, or have ever had a seizure when stopping, don’t stop drinking suddenly on your own.

Recovery Works provides outpatient treatment and does not offer on-site medical detox. If your assessment shows you need detox, our team will help connect you with a medical detox provider, then welcome you into our program once you’re stable.

If you or someone else is having a seizure, hallucinations, or severe confusion, call 911.

Our Outpatient Alcohol Treatment Programs

Our IOP includes three 3-hour group sessions a week plus individual counseling, typically for 12–16 weeks. Morning and evening groups are available.

Our NIOP meets twice a week for 2-hour groups, with individual counseling. It's a good fit as a step down from IOP or for people with milder needs.

Individual counseling with a licensed counselor is part of every program. You'll explore what drives your drinking, identify triggers, and build a personal relapse prevention plan.

Medication for Alcohol Use Disorder

Vivitrol (naltrexone) is a once-monthly injection that’s FDA-approved to treat alcohol use disorder. It can reduce cravings and the rewarding effects of alcohol, making it easier to stay on track. At Recovery Works, medication-assisted treatment is provided together with counseling as part of your treatment plan.

Treating What's Underneath

Many people drink to cope with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, or stress. Our dual diagnosis treatment addresses these conditions alongside alcohol use, so you’re not just removing a coping tool but building better ones.

Therapies may include:

  • Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)
  • Motivational interviewing
  • Group therapy and peer support
  • Relapse prevention education
  • Case management

Recovery Housing for Stability

If home isn’t a safe or sober place right now, our recovery housing offers a structured, alcohol-free environment with peer support while you complete treatment.
